LPA Bookshelf

About Us

LPA offers literary agencies and publishers all the benefits of an in-house rights department.

Since our foundation in 2010, we have worked closely with clients and authors to grow their businesses and build audiences for their books all over the world.

Relationships are at the heart of successful publishing so we travel extensively to meet editors at publishing houses around the world. We bring authors and publishers together and support them throughout the publishing process to create long-lasting partnerships.

We can offer advice through the acquisition and editorial process – minor changes to a proposal’s scope can make a big difference to its international potential.

Our clients

We represent fiction and non-fiction from a diverse selection of literary agencies and independent publishers. Each of our clients has their own distinctive identity; what they have in common is a commitment to developing talent and sharing new ideas.

Louisa Pritchard

Meet the founder

Louisa Pritchard

Louisa Pritchard is a literary agent and founder of Louisa Pritchard Associates, selling rights on behalf of top literary agencies and independent publishers.

Louisa established LPA in 2010 so that agencies and publishers can have all the services of an in-house rights department. She enjoys working with clients to develop their rights strategy, grow revenue and build audiences for their books around the world. She believes that personal connections and local knowledge are key to successful rights selling, so she loves travelling to meet editors face-to-face and browsing bookshops around the world.

Prior to founding LPA, Louisa spent more than a decade working for major publishers and agencies, including as Head of Rights at Peters, Fraser & Dunlop, Foreign Rights Director at Orion, and Senior Rights Manager at Random House. She has sold rights for major international bestsellers including Tim Marshall, Simon Schama and Tony Blair, award-winning novelists such as Stef Penney, and best-selling crime writers including Elizabeth Haynes.

Louisa enjoys cross country running, riding her Brompton around London, and trips to the theatre. She has a weakness for impractical shoes, never says no to a cup of tea, and spent ten years sleeping in an altitude tent.
